100% Tempranillo (Tinta del Pais) from 225 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards near Peñafiel in the centre of Ribera del Duero. After 35 days maceration the wine spends 14 months in French and American oak barrels. Smoky, toasty oak and balsamic notes mingle with raspberry, redcurrant, and black fruits. On the palate bramble and dark plum characters are balanced by spice, vanilla and clove. Tannins are fine and structural, giving the wine backbone. A delicious, punchy red that will match roast lamb, duck or goose or hearty stews.
